The Summit

The H+ Summit is an event that explores how humanity will be radically changed by technology in the near future. Visionary speakers will explore the potential of technology to modify your body, mind, life, and world.

H+ Summit: Live Long and Prosper will be held November 5, 6 and 7, 2010, in Los Angeles. This H+ Summit, the third, will focus on how to make the most of your potential 150 year lifespan, including a unique H+ look at economics, finance, entrepreneurship, and the most likely sources for new wealth to emerge in the next few years and decades. Our intention is for attendees not only to live longer, but to do so with deeper, better, and more global friendships and professional collaborations. We also seek to create a mindset or consciousness in which core values and capabilities, such as admirable ethics, rapid learning ability, innovative earning capacity, and writing, speaking, and organizing to create socially beneficial science-centric movements will be commonly held within the H+ community.

We are now seeking proposals from established speakers on science, technology, and the future to give presentations at the event. There will be 40 speaking slots over the 2.5 days of the event, ranging from the infamous standard 10 minute H+ speaking slot to keynotes of up 40 minutes. Please note that preference is given to published authors of books on science, technology, hard science fiction incorporating recent research, economics and finance, and, preferably, a combination of all these topic areas.

H+ Summit has been described as “the TED conference of the science fiction-made-real set”. Our conferences are unique in that every talk is live streamed globally, every question and answer comes via Twitter and other social media, and the lines between the real and virtual world are blurred, so that the months leading up to the conference and afterwards are filled with online conversation and collaboration. Nothing beats being at an H+ Summit live, however, because of the ability to have side discussions with some of the smartest people in the world, both speakers and attendees.

The reviews of the first two H+ Summit conferences have been very positive, and those reviewers who have looked at our stated purposes for H+ Summit have concluded that our ambitious goals have been achieved. One example, from Singularity Hub: “Lightman’s goal for the summit was to provide a place where scientists, innovators, educators, writers, speakers and artists could reflect on the technologies that are most likely to change the human condition in the next two decades, and I’d say he accomplished that goal brilliantly at Harvard this past weekend.” Now the goal for the H+ Summit: Live Long and Prosper will be to provide a place for scientists, innovators, educators, writers, speakers and artists to learn how to exchange their knowledge, experience, and professional expression for the resources, in multiple parallel currencies, to live life to the fullest, as long, wonderful, and helpful to fellow humans and to nature as possible.
