Tim Marzullo received his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001 and his Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 2008 working with Daryl Kipke studying cortical neurophysiology for neuroprosthetics. He then worked as a research engineer for a year at NeuroNexus Technologies, developing advanced neural interfaces for researchers around the world.

He is currently a Kauffman Postdoctoral Entrepreneurial Fellow, boot-strapping “Backyard Brains,” a start-up devoted to producing low-cost neurophysiology equipment for high school students and early undergraduates, bringing neuroscience to everyone and a spike in every hand.

He enjoys his newly married life and fixing his old beater cars.
